I Forgot How To Fly

Butterfly wings spreading in the steady breeze,
Venomous words flying at me with ease,
I can’t breathe here behind you,
I can’t see here beside you,
I’m broken at the sound of your voice,
And I’m waiting for that moment when my life becomes my choice

I’m screaming at you,
Through the walls I’m bleeding at you,
Can’t you see the tears falling to the ground?
Can’t you see my fears dragging me down?

The sun rises on a brand new day,
But yesterday has me locked in it’s shadow,
And the memory of you has me locked in the shadows.
I can’t breathe here behind you,
I can’t see here right beside you,
I’m broken at the sound, the sound of your voice,
And I’m waiting, just waiting,
I don’t have a choice.

You tell me to lift but I can’t see the sky,
You tell me I’m hopeless,
I’ve forgotten how to fly.
I’ve forgotten why I bothered to fly,
I can’t breathe here behind you,
I can’t see here right beside you,
I’m broken at the sound, the sound of your voice,
And I’m waiting, just waiting,
I don’t have a choice,
I lost my choice,
I can’t breathe here behind you; I’m choking on the air
I can’t see here beside you, I have nothing left to spare,
I’m broken here by you.
